Save Powder Point Bridge, Inc. is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Duxbury’s historic Powder Point Bridge and ensuring residents have clear, accurate information about its future.
OUR MISSION
Preservation, information and public involvement
Powder Point Bridge has connected generations of Duxbury families to Duxbury Beach for more than a century. Save Powder Point Bridge, Inc. was organized to help ensure that preservation and rehabilitation remain part of the conversation as decisions are made about the bridge’s future.
Our work is focused on understanding the condition of the existing bridge, evaluating preservation and rehabilitation possibilities, reviewing the public process surrounding the proposed replacement project, and making relevant information available to residents.

Building a complete picture
Preservation
Explore practical opportunities to preserve and rehabilitate the existing timber bridge while protecting the character of this longstanding Duxbury landmark.
Engineering & Research
Review inspection reports, engineering information, historic records and rehabilitation alternatives so residents can better understand the choices before the Town.
Public Information
Gather and organize project documents, timelines, public records and agency information so important decisions can be understood in context.
Historic Preservation
Participate in historic preservation review and work to document the bridge’s longstanding significance to Duxbury and its connection to Duxbury Beach.
Community Involvement
Encourage residents to learn about the project, ask questions and participate while preservation, rehabilitation and replacement alternatives can still be meaningfully considered.
Professional Resources
Seek assistance from preservation professionals, timber experts, engineers, attorneys, grant specialists and other qualified resources as the project moves forward.

Save Powder Point Bridge, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization independent of the Town of Duxbury and MassDOT.
The organization exists to research, educate, advocate for preservation alternatives and help ensure Duxbury residents remain informed as decisions involving this Town owned asset move forward.
